I've been after a nice photograph of a snowflake for 10 years now and just recently got the capabilities of capturing them.
Back in october I built myself my own macrophotography rail slide because I refuse to spend hundreds of dollars on high quality ones, and the cheap ones get terrible reviews.
After trying for several months to capture one under not ideal weather conditions, we finally had the perfect conditions where these gems were falling.
This is 12 photographs focus stacked. Minimum cropping (esthetic only). The magnification comes from using a 50mm 1:1 macro lens attached to 68mm of extension tubes, giving me a magnification greater than 1:1. I've not measured it so I don't know exactly how much more.
